Change the default container runtime CRI socket endpoint to the
one of containerd. Previously it was the one for Docker
- Rename constants.DefaultDockerCRISocket to DefaultCRISocket
- Make the constants files include the endpoints for all supported
container runtimes for Unix/Windows.
- Update unit tests related to docker runtime testing.
- In kubelet/flags.go hardcode the legacy docker socket as a check
to allow kubeadm 1.24 to run against kubelet 1.23 if the user
explicitly sets the criSocket field to "npipe:////./pipe/dockershim"
on Windows or "unix:///var/run/dockershim.sock" on Linux.
Panicing if not running in a test and if the component-base/version
variables are empty is not ideal. At some point sections
of kubeadm could be exposed as a library and if these sections
import the constants package, they would panic on the library
users unless they set the version information in component-base
with ldflags.
Instead:
- If the component-base version is empty, return a placeholder version
that should indicate to users that build kubeadm that something is not
right (e.g. they did not use 'make'). During library usage or unit
tests this version should not be relevant.
- Update unit tests to use hardcoded versions instead of the versions
from the constants package. Using the constants package for testing
is good but during unit tests these versions are already placeholders
since unit tests do not populate the actual component-base versions
(e.g. 1.23).
Tests under /app and /test would fail if the current/minimum k8s version
is dynamically populated from the version in the kubeadm binary.
Adapt the tests to support that.
Instead of dynamically defaulting NodeRegistration.ImagePullPolicy,
which is common when doing defaulting depending on host state - e.g.
hostname, statically default it in v1beta3/defaults.go.
- Remove defaulting in checks.go
- Add one more unit test in checks_test.go
- Adapt v1beta2 conversion and fuzzer / round tripping tests
This also results in the default being visible when calling:
"kubeadm config print ...".
If the user has not specified a pull policy we must assume a default of
v1.PullIfNotPresent.
Add some extra verbose output to help users monitor what policy is
used and what images are skipped / pulled.
Use "fallthrough" and case handle "v1.PullAlways".
Update unit test.
Currently this uses the combined kubelet output (stdout + stderr), but this
causes parsing issues if the kubelet logs something on stderr.
Thus we ignore the entire stderr and use stdout only.
We do disable a couple of tests here. That is because the fakeexecer only
supports combined output and return a "not supported" error if `.Output()`
gets invoked thus permanently failing those.

Add an extra flag isSecondaryControlPlane to RunInitNodeChecks
which can be used to indicate that the node we are checking is
a secondary control-plane. In such a case we skip some tests
that are already covered by RunJoinNodeChecks and
RunOptionalJoinNodeChecks.
In order to allow for a smoother UX with CRIs different than Docker, we have to
make the --cri-socket command line flag optional when just one CRI is
installed.
This change does that by doing the following:
- Introduce a new runtime function (DetectCRISocket) that will attempt to
detect a CRI socket, or return an appropriate error.
- Default to using the above function if --cri-socket is not specified and
CRISocket in NodeRegistrationOptions is empty.
- Stop static defaulting to DefaultCRISocket. And rename it to
DefaultDockerCRISocket. Its use is now narrowed to "Docker or not"
distinguishment and tests.
- Introduce AddCRISocketFlag function that adds --cri-socket flag to a flagSet.
Use that in all commands, that support --cri-socket.
- Remove the deprecated --cri-socket-path flag from kubeadm config images pull
and deprecate --cri-socket in kubeadm upgrade apply.

Replaced hardcoded "v0.12.0" strings with MinimumControlPlaneVersion and
MinimumKubeletVersion global variables.
This should help with a regular release version bumps.
Bump MinimumControlPlaneVersion and MinimumKubeletVersion to v1.12 and update
any related tests.

In the past the discovery configuration expected, that we can support multiple
API server endpoints. In practice, we always end up with a single API server
endpoint, because, even in HA setups, we use a load balancer scheme for API
servers.
Therefore, to reduce complexity and improve readability of the config, the
multiple API server endpoints support is removed from the bootstrap token
discovery join method and configuration.

This change splits out discovery fields from JoinConfiguration by performing
the following changes:
- Introduce a BootstrapTokenDiscovery structure, that houses configuration
options needed for bootstrap token based discovery.
- Introduce a FileDiscovery structure, that houses configuration options
(currently only a single option) needed for KubeConfig based discovery.
- Introduce a Discovery structure, that houses common options (such as
discovery timeout and TLS bootstrap token) as well as pointer to an instance
of either BootstrapTokenDiscovery or FileDiscovery structures.
- Replace the old discovery related JoinConfiguration members with a single
Discovery member.
This change is required in order to cleanup the code of unnecessary logic and
make the serialized JoinConfiguration more structured (and therefore, more
intuitive).

This API return error when underlying 'inspect' command
fails. This makes ImagePullCheck to fail as it doesn't expect
runtime.ImageExists to return an error even if image doesn't exist.
Fixed this by returning error nil even when inspect command fails.
