They contain some nice-to-have improvements (for example, better printing of
errors with gomega/format.Object) but nothing that is critical right now.
"go mod tidy" was run manually in

not merged yet).
Provide an administrator a streaming view of journal logs on Linux
systems using journalctl, and event logs on Windows systems using the
Get-WinEvent PowerShell cmdlet without them having to implement a client
side reader.
Only available to cluster admins.
The implementation for journald on Linux was originally done by Clayton
Coleman.
Introduce a heuristics approach to query logs
The logs query for node objects will follow a heuristics approach
when asked to query for logs from a service. If asked to get the
logs from a service foobar, it will first check if foobar logs to the
native OS service log provider. If unable to get logs from these, it
will attempt to get logs from /var/foobar, /var/log/foobar.log or
/var/log/foobar/foobar.log in that order.
The logs sub-command can also directly serve a file if the query looks
like a file.

Update github.com/coreos/go-systemd/v22 to v22.4.0 which introduces
`GetUnitNameByPID`. This function will be used in node e2e to get the
container runtime systemd unit name.

Update go-jose from v2.2.2 to v2.6.0.
This is to make the kubernetes code compatible with newer go-jose versions that have a small breaking change (`jwt.NewNumericDate()` returns a pointer).

This improves performance of the text formatting and ktesting.
Because ktesting no longer buffers messages by default, one unit
test needs to ask for that explicitly.
It provides more readable output and has additional APIs for using it inside a
unit test. goleak.IgnoreCurrent is needed to filter out the goroutine that gets
started when importing go.opencensus.io/stats/view.
In order to handle background goroutines that get created on demand and cannot
be stopped (like the one for LogzHealth), a helper function ensures that those
are running before calling goleak.IgnoreCurrent. Keeping those goroutines
running is not a problem and thus not worth the effort of adding new APIs to
stop them.
Other goroutines are genuine leaks for which no fix is available. Those get
suppressed via IgnoreTopFunction, which works as long as that function
is unique enough.
Example output for the leak fixed in https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pull/115423:

If gomega.Eventually/Consistently run into a situation where it observes some
state of e.g. a pod which does not satisfy the condition and then further
polling fails with API server errors, gomega will report both the most recent
pod state and API error instead of just the API error.

The new ginkgo release adds sorting of specs. This was triggered by
the observation that parallel test execution of Kubernetes E2E tests
sometimes ran the same spec twice and (presumably) other specs not at all
because spec order was random due to iteration over a map.
Sorting should avoid that problem.
Ginkgo v2.5.0 adds support for a "timeline": a full description of what happened
while a specific test ran, including failures, timeouts, and log output.
Ginkgo v2.6.0 adds ReportBeforeSuite which we need for
https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/issues/114313.
