Aurélien Bombo 1860f7c9ff runtime-rs: Add OpenVMM out-of-process hypervisor support
Consolidated OpenVMM support for the Rust runtime (runtime-rs): an
out-of-process hypervisor backend that drives the external `openvmm`
VMM over ttrpc, using bindings generated by build.rs from the vendored
protos/vmservice.proto (no OpenVMM crates are linked in-tree), plus
configuration and Makefile wiring, kata-deploy integration, and the
supporting build/test plumbing.

This is a single squashed commit of the OpenVMM development branch
(41 commits, b5951a1..) prepared for rebase onto
kata-containers/kata-containers main; it will be reorganized into
review buckets before the PR is opened. The full original history is
preserved in the pre-squash/ovmm tag and the /mnt/data/
ovmm-presquash-history archive.

Kata Containers packaging

Introduction

Kata Containers currently supports packages for many distributions. Tooling to aid in creating these packages are contained within this repository.

Build in a container

Kata build artifacts are available within a container image, created by a Dockerfile. Reference DaemonSets are provided in kata-deploy, which make installation of Kata Containers in a running Kubernetes Cluster very straightforward.

Build static binaries

See the static build documentation.

Build Kata Containers Kernel

See the kernel documentation.

Build QEMU

See the QEMU documentation.

Create a Kata Containers release

See the release documentation.

Packaging scripts

See the scripts documentation.

Credits

Kata Containers packaging uses packagecloud for package hosting.
