In case stacked etcd is used, the code that does expiration checks
does not validate if the etcd CA is "external" (missing key)
and if the etcd CA signed certificates are valid.
Add a new function UsingExternalEtcdCA() similar to existing functions
for the cluster CA and front-proxy CA, that performs the checks for
missing etcd CA key and certificate validity.
This function only runs for stacked etcd, since if etcd is external
kubeadm does not track any certs signed by that etcd CA.
This fixes a bug where the etcd CA will be reported as local even
if the etcd/ca.key is missing during "certs check-expiration".
Instead of the individual error and return, it's better to aggregate all
the errors so that we can fix them all at once.
Take the chance to fix some comments, since kubeadm are not checking that
the certs are equal across controlplane.

Fixes an issue where some kubeadm phases fail if a certificate file
contains a certificate chain with one or more intermediate CA
certificates. The validation algorithm has been changed from requiring
that a certificate was signed directly by the root CA to requiring that
there is a valid certificate chain back to the root CA.
- Modify validateCACertAndKey() to print warnings for missing keys
instead of erroring out.
- Update unit tests.
This allows doing a CP node join in a case where the user has:
- copied shared certificates to the new CP node, but not copied
ca.key files, treating the cluster CAs as external
- signed other required certificates in advance
Client side period validation of certificates should not be
fatal, as local clock skews are not so uncommon. The validation
should be left to the running servers.
- Remove this validation from TryLoadCertFromDisk().
- Add a new function ValidateCertPeriod(), that can be used for this
purpose on demand.
- In phases/certs add a new function CheckCertificatePeriodValidity()
that will print warnings if a certificate does not pass period
validation, and caches certificates that were already checked.
- Use the function in a number of places where certificates
are loaded from disk.
The selected key type is defined by kubeadm's --feature-gates option:
if it contains PublicKeysECDSA=true then ECDSA keys will be generated
and used.
By default RSA keys are used still.

Even though CreateServiceAccountKeyAndPublicKeyFiles() function is
an interface function it's not unittested. Instead it wraps a couple
of internal functions which are used only inside CreateServiceAccountKeyAndPublicKeyFiles()
and those internal functions are tested.
Rewrite the function to do only what it's intended to do and add unit
tests for it.
kubeadm still generates RSA keys when deploying a node, but also
accepts ECDSA keys if they already exist pregenerated in the
directory specified in --cert-dir.
The function certs.NewCACertAndKey() is just a wrapper around
pkiutil.NewCertificateAuthority() which doesn't add any
additional functionality.
Instead use pkiutil.NewCertificateAuthority() directly.
- move most unrelated to phases output to klog.V(1)
- rename some prefixes for consistency - e.g.
[kubelet] -> [kubelet-start]
- control-plane-prepare: print details for each generated CP
component manifest.
- uppercase the info text for all "[reset].." lines
- modify the text for one line in reset
For historical reasons InitConfiguration is used almost everywhere in kubeadm
as a carrier of various configuration components such as ClusterConfiguration,
local API server endpoint, node registration settings, etc.
Since v1alpha2, InitConfiguration is meant to be used solely as a way to supply
the kubeadm init configuration from a config file. Its usage outside of this
context is caused by technical dept, it's clunky and requires hacks to fetch a
working InitConfiguration from the cluster (as it's not stored in the config
map in its entirety).
This change is a small step towards removing all unnecessary usages of
InitConfiguration. It reduces its usage by replacing it in some places with
some of the following:
- ClusterConfiguration only.
- APIEndpoint (as local API server endpoint).
- NodeRegistrationOptions only.
- Some combinations of the above types, or if single fields from them are used,
only those field.

This avoids ending in a wrong cluster state by assuming that the
present certificates will work. It is specially important when we
are growing etcd from 1 member to 2, in which case in case of failure
upon joining etcd will be unavailable.
When golint is run against kubeadm it reports severel warnings like
redundant if ...; err != nil check, just return error instead.
Fix the warnings by just returning error.
- Move from the old github.com/golang/glog to k8s.io/klog
- klog as explicit InitFlags() so we add them as necessary
- we update the other repositories that we vendor that made a similar
change from glog to klog

Walk the certificate tree, at each step checking for a CACert.
If the CACert is found, try to use it to generate certificates.
Otherwise, generate a new CA cert.
- etcd 3.2 uses the server certificate as the client cert for the grpc
gateway, this updates the generation of the etcd server certificate to
add client usage to resolve the issue.
- Set peer urls for default etcd instance to avoid leaving peer port unsecured
- Update generated etcd peer certificate SANs to include localhost
- Use a proper CN for etcd server and peer certificates
- Increase the manifest update timeout
This follows the pattern `kubectl` uses for logging.
There are two remaining glog.Infof call that cannot be removed easily.
One glog call comes from kubelet validation which calls features.SetFromMap.
The other comes from test/e2e during kernel validation.
