3d99082411 dm: support OVMF split images
In addition to a single OVMF image (OVMF.fd), split images
(OVMF_CODE.fd, OVMF_VARS.fd) can be used to facilitate VM management.

From the OVMF Whitepaper:

  The variable store and the firmware executable are also available in
  the build output as separate files entitled: "OVMF_VARS.fd" and
  "OVMF_CODE.fd". This enables central management and updates of the
  firmware executable, while each virtual machine can retain its own
  variable store.

An example to launch acrn-dm with the split images:

  --ovmf code=/usr/share/acrn/bios/OVMF_CODE.fd, \
  vars=/usr/share/acrn/bios/OVMF_VARS.fd

v1 -> v2:
- use memory-mapped file I/O for writeback
- use fcntl to lock OVMF image files

73f21a41ad DM: gvt: Identical mapping for GPU DSM
Windows graphic driver obtains DSM address from in-BAR mmio register
which has passthroughed. Not like the other platforms obtained from
pci configure space register which has virtualized. So TGL has to
keep identical mapping to avoid trap mmio BAR to do the emulation.

To keep simple, this patch hardcode the TGL DSM region in vE820
table, this will cause memory waste here. In the near future, we
need refine the entire vE820 logic as it is hard to maintained
due to many reserved regions have introduced in recently.

dm: vptct: add vPTCT for post-launched RTVM

We added vPTCT support for post-launched RTVM:
1. Added a function create_and_inject_vptct. Currently, we
pass-through the whole pSRAM to one RTVM, so we will also pass-
through the PTCT to the very same RTVM. This function will
read the native PTCT from SOS and inject it into post-
launched VM's vACPI.
2. Added some definitions for vPTCT.

460124f984 dm: e820: refine e820 layout
We don't reserve PCI MMIO in e820 Table, it's included in DSDT ACPI Table.
About 0xA0000 - 0x100000 entry, we don't have any ACPI Table touch this region.
So we could remove it too.

After this change, we could only pass the reserved e820 table which we must
reserve to OVMF. In this case, the OVMF could trust ACRN-DM and pass the
reserved e820 table to guest instead of dropping it.

This patch needs the corresponding modify in OVMF. Otherwise, the guest could
not boot.

f13d5c25b6 dm: mmio_dev: add mmio device pass through support
We could add MMIO device pass through by two ways:
a) If the MMIO device only has MMIO regions and no ACPI Table touched, using
"--mmiodev_pt MMIO_regions",
b) If the MMIO device touches ACPI Table, using "--acpidev_pt HID"

Now only support TPM2 MSFT0101 MMIO device pass through through launch script
using "--acpidev_pt MSFT0101". When we want to pass through the TPM2 deivce,
we would not allow to emulate the vTPM2 at the same time. This is becuase
the ACRN-DM emulate the TPM2 as MSFT0101 too. Otherwise, the VM can't boot.

Besides, we could only support one TPM2 device PT and one MMIO device PT.
For TPM2 device PT, the MMIO resources are hard-coded. For the MMIO device PT,
we could pass through the MMIO resources on the cmdline.

ToDo:
1. We may use HID to discover the MMIO regions and ACPI Table instaed of
hard-coded.
2. To identify a MMIO device only by MMIO regions.
3. To allocate virtual MMIO regions in a reserved guest MMIO regions.

e99ddf28c3 hv: vpci: handle the quirk part for pass through pci device cfg access in dm
There're some PCI devices need special handler for vendor-specical feature or
capability CFG access. The Intel GPU is one of them. In order to keep the ACRN-HV
clean, we want to throw the qurik part of PCI CFG asccess to DM to handle.

To achieve this, we implement per-device policy base on whether it needs quirk handler
for a VM: each device could configure as "quirk pass through device" or not. For a
"quirk pass through device", we will handle the general part in HV and the quirk part
in DM. For a non "quirk pass through device", we will handle all the part in HV.

7cb45bc968 DM USB: xHCI: refine the emulation logic for BEI bit in the TRB
The Block Event Interrupt (BEI) bit in the TRB descriptor could
delay the triggering of interrupt. For most OSes, the native
driver for xHCI will use this bit to optimize the IO performence,
due to reduction of number of interrupts.

But in Linux, the native xHCI driver for Intel brand controller
doesn't use this bit. It is fine for the native scenario due to
most work is completed by hardware. But in virtualization scenario,
it is almost impossible to support heavy data IO such as high
resolution video recording (ISOC transfer).

Hence, this issue is solved by a 'quirk' when the intel hardware is
emulated (when vendor id is set as 0x8086). For other cases, a
virtal hardware called 'ACRN xHCI' is emulated, and both Linux and
Windows will use BEI bit by default.

236c23e418 DM USB: introduce enum type usb_block_type
In the process of USB data transfer, there three kinds of data blocks:
a. Non data block, which contains some control information;
b. Partial data block, which contains part of a large data chunk;
c. Full data block, which contains a complete data chunk.

In previous implementation, the differences mentioned above are described
by the usb_block::chained. But the 'chained' is concept in the xHCI area
and should not appear in the USB layer. This patch introduces enum type
usb_block_type to replace the 'chained' field in struct usb_block.

b98096ea06 dm: pci: fix the MMIO regions overlap when getting bar size
PCI spec says that the procedure of sizing a BAR is as follows:
1) disable the decode via command register
2) save the original value of BAR register
3) write all-1 to the BAR register
4) read BAR register back, calculate the size
5) restore the original value to BAR register
6) re-enable the decode via command register

Some driver does not disable the decode of BAR register via the
command register before sizing a BAR. This will lead to a overlay
of the BAR addresses when trying to register the intermediate
BAR address via register_bar. A stateful variable sizing is used
to keep track of such kind of BAR address changes and workaroud
this violation.

Currently this issue is only found when audio device is passed
through to Windows 10 guest. When it is fixed in the Windows
audio driver, this patch should be reverted.

Currently, we use STR_LEN for all checking the size of all the

can grow based on different needs. For example, when kata launches
guest VM using acrn, the kernel boot args increases by 256 bytes
(i.e 1024 +256).

Just increasing STR_LEN will unnecessarily increase allocations
for other acrn-dm parameters. So decoupling only boot_args
length and increasing it to 2048.

PS: If other parameters like ramdisk path, kernel path,
elf_path etc. don't need 1024 bytes, we can reduce STR_LEN

71b56e0eed DM: Virtio-Blk Rescan
This patch adds support to trigger rescan of virtio-blk device by the
guest VM. This is an alternate to hot-plugging virtio-blk device.
This feature stems from the kata requirement, which hot-plugs container
rootfs after the VM is launched.

As part of virtio-blk rescan,
1. Update the backing file for the virtio-blk device with valid file.
   Basically update the empty file (with dummy bctxt) that was passed
   during VM launch.
2. Update virtio-blk device configurations for udpated backing file.
3. Update size associated with valid backing file in the config space.
4. Notify guest OS, of the new config change.
5. On this notification, guest will do the following.
	(i). Update virtio-blk capacity.
 	(ii). Revalidate the disk.
 	(iii). Identify the newly plugged block device.

v5 -> v6:
- Removed use of dummy file and added a new parameter "nodisk"
  to virtio-blk which indicates user wants to create a virtio-blk
  device with dummy backend.
- Moved vm_monitor_rescan from pci core to virtio-blk as it currently
  applies to only virtio-blk.

v4 -> v5:
- Reverted back logic, so that blkrescan is only supported when
  VM is launched with empty backend file.

v3 -> v4:
- Close block context before allocating a new one
- Allow backend filepath with additional options to be more generic
- Remove blank lines introduced as part of previous patches.

v2 -> v3:
- Renamed vdev ops vdev_blk rescan to vdev_rescan
- Renamed montior ops virtio_blkrescan_ops to virtio_rescan_ops
- Consolidated virtio-blk configuration specific part into
  a separate function
- Removed size requirement in acrnctl command.

v1 -> v2:
- Added more comments in the code.
- Renamed APIs from displug to blkrescan, inline with acrnctl cmd.
- Split the patch into two. This corresponds to changes in acrn-dm.

The fixing is:
We introduce a teardown callback to mevent and make sure there is
no race issue between callback and teardown call.

b261e74dd5 dm: virtio poll mode support for RT
Device trap has great impact on latency of real time (RT) tasks.
This patch provide a virtio poll mode to avoid trap.

According to the virtio spec, backend devices can declare the
notification is not needed so that frontend will never trap.
This means the backends make commitment to the frontends they have a
poll mechanism which don’t need any frontends notification.

This patch uses a periodic timer to give backends pseudo notifications
so that drive them processing data in their virtqueues. People should
choose a appropriate notification peroid interval to use this poll
mode. Too big interval may cause virtqueue processing latency while
too small interval may cause high SOS CPU usage. The suggested interval
is between 100us to 1ms.

The poll mode is not enabled by default and traditional trap
notification mode will be used. To use poll mode for RT with interval
1ms. You can add following acrn-dm parameter.

	--virtio_poll 1000000

584f6b7255 doc: replace return with retval
`@return` is dedicated for brief description of return values, not for comments
stating actual return values. In addition, sphinx + breathe does not join
multiple adjacent `@return`. This results in multiple `Return` sections in the
generated document, which is confusing.

This patch replaces `@return` with `@retval` for the lists of return
values. Adjacent `@retval` can be joined into one list by breathe.

v1 -> v2:

* Replace return value descriptions like `negative` and `positive` with
  expressions like `<0` and `>0` in `@retval`.
* Keep the list of `@retval` comprehensive, even when there is a `@return` to
  generally describe what the return value means.
* Drop duplicated `@return` when it does not give more information than the
  `@retval` list.

e8296dce05 hv: Add IO request completion polling feature
This patch introduce a new mode of IO request completion, polling mode.

Now, the sketch of ioreq process can be,
  A. UOS vcpu0 generate PIO/MMIO ->
   B. pcpu1(vcpu0 of UOS) trap into HV ->
    C. pcpu1 build ioreq, send IPI and enter idle ->
     D.1 pcpu0(vcpu0 of SOS) response IPI,
     D.2 pcpu0 handle the ioreq in HV, kernel, DM,
     D.3 pcpu0 mark ioreq as complete,
     D.4 pcpu0 hypercall to enter HV ->
       E.1 pcpu0 send IPI to wake pcpu1 up
       E.2 UOS vcpu0 continue running

With this change, it skips D.4, E.1 steps. In step C, pcpu1 will enter a
polling ioreq state idle after send out the IPI.
It can save about ~5000 cpu cycles.

In polling mode, we do the polling in idle instead of pause cpu all the
time. It will consume more power. A better way is to use monitor/mwait
instructions which can put cpu into a sleep state with monitoring a
memory address. Unfortunately, APL has bug with monitor. We can gather
all ioreqs state into one monitorable memory and take advantage of
monitor/mwait for future platform.

The way polling or notification is per VM. We can config VMs in
different mode. By default, IO request completion will use notification
mode for all VMs. We can switch it by Kconfig.
